The purpose of my Facebook Fan-page, Analog World, is was share content relating to analog technology like film photography and vinyl records.
My experience with this project was quite interesting. As was the outcome of my analytics.
First and foremost, Facebook. When I rolled out my page I gained a handful of visits but with each post the number dropped. Now, I didn’t use Facebook before this class and even using for the past few months I’m still not that proficient with it. I also had a few problems with Facebook, such as posts not appearing on my pages feed, etc.

Despite my ineptitude with my Facebook skills, I am quite familiar with Instagram which I used for one of my alternative accounts. With my first post, I gained over a dozen followers within the day it was posted. And the same result occurred but at a faster rate. I used many different hashtags with both posts which I added in the comments of the posts. Hashtags are without a doubt the most effective way of gathering likes on Instagram. I also gained a handful of followers after my first post, but I didn’t gain as many with my following posts.

I didn’t see much activity with my 3rd account which was Pinterest. I did gain a few followers, but they didn’t appear to be real accounts, but just bot accounts.

Overall, I think that if I were to really spend more time to curate content constantly the Instagram’s follower count could grow. I need to further my understanding of running a page like this. However, I think for this particular concept though I think Instagram is the most effective platform.
