A Look Back At This Year’s Voter Registration

In today’s political climate, the American population is as divided and politically polarized as ever. Now, with the upcoming mid-term elections quickly approaching, Americans all over the country are ensuring that their fellow citizens register to vote.

In the past few months, thousands of people have been campaigning to get Americans to register and to vote. There have been a countless number of online social media campaigns, run by established organizations or just by individuals who want to make a difference. According to Time, for this year’s National Voter Registration Day, which occured on September 25th, more than 800,000 American citizens registered to vote. The holiday was first observed in 2012, but hasn’t reached this high of a number until this year.
